RATHKEELAND ROXY

LOT 12

Rathkeeland Roxy is a stylish heifer with exceptional width. She oozes class and presence and has the breeding to back it up.

She has been A.I'd on 15/03/2022 to Westpit Omaha, an Ampertine Forman son, a very easy calving bull.

  • Roxy's Dam RATHKEELAND KAPRICO is by the renowned Sauvignon and has bred national Limousin heifers and Derby Champions with heifers reaching £5000 at sales. Her Grand-dam was Irish Limousin Female Champion and Reserve Overall Champion at the Tullamore show. Her Great Grand-dam, Sarkley Bikita is by Goldie's Oswald. I would say apart from Millbrook Señorita she would be the best junior cow we have owned and shown at that time in Southern Ireland. Her presence and character are unbelievable. She won Limousin Champion & Interbreed Champion at the Virginia show, Reserve Female Champion & Reserve Overall National Limousin Champion at the Ploughing Championships at Kilkenny.

  • Roxy's Sire IRONSTONE GANDI the herd's senior stock bull has over 107 pedigree calves sired. He is in the top 10% of the breed for overall beef value and 400-day growth with a 92% accuracy. Gestation length & Birth weight top 25% of the breed with a 95% accuracy. Gandi was purchased as an eight-year-old bull at the Ironstone dispersal for £7000. Two of his daughters averaged £8000 at the sale. His full sister, Ironstone Dumandy, a multi-award winning Royal show winner sold for £22,000. Rathkeeland Samuel's Grand-Dam Bailea Umandy was purchased for £50,000. Grand-sire Wilodge Vantastic was sold at £42,000. Since then Gandi progeny has won Stirling Bull Sales, selling to a top £10,000 to the Wilodge herd. The first progeny of Gandi Daughters started to come on to the market last Autumn with Bangtidy Ralph Lauren sold in Stirling at the October Bull Sales for £8500 to the Mclaren's. Bangtidy RoseGold sold in December at the red ladies for £8,000 to Paul McArdle co Monaghan.

Rathkeeland Rose is a well-balanced heifer with length, growth and muscle. She is full of character and has some great Pedigree lines which we have no doubt she will carry on and become a good breeding cow.

Rose was AI'd on 09/03/2022 to Brontemoor Max, a Lodge Hamlet son, with easy calving figures.

  • Rose's Sire GUNNERFLEET MACK is a well-muscled, easy calving Plumtree Fantastic son purchased in Carlisle where he won his class that day. He was shown extensively in 2018 where he won his class at Balmoral Show and was Male Champion at the Northern Ireland Limousin National Show in Antrim, also Limousin Champion at Omagh, Clogher & Newry shows.

  • Rose's Dam, ERNE MANDY is breeding consistent great females. Her last heifer, Rathkeeland Premier was retained in the herd for the show team this year.

  • Rose's Grand-sire, COLUMBJOHN DRAKE was a five-star rating, easy calving bull and his heifers have exceptional milk. He was shown as a stock bull.

Rathkeeland Rita is one of the First progeny for sale from our junior stock bull Haltcliffe Nijinsky she is very long great width and character will grow into a good brood cow.

Rita was served on 08/04/2022 with Ironstone Gandi, a Wilodge Vantastic son.

In 2019 he was Limousin Champion & Interbreed Champion at Ballymoney, Armagh and various other shows that year, he was unbeaten in his class. He is Elgin X Vermont, son. His progeny are starting to come through in the herd, excelling themselves both on the ground and coming through in their figures.

  • Rita's Dam ERNE JEMIMA is a big able Sylvandene Defoe daughter, a regular breeder and a great asset to the herd. Her first daughter sold to Mr & Mrs C & J Clark, Tullyneil Herd. She has proved to carry on her mother's traits. Rita is halter trained like all our cattle that are entered for this red ribbon sale. She is very quiet and has an exceptionally good nature and easy to work with.

LOT 15

Rathkeeland Romany is a well made maiden heifer with great length and appearance. When Romany is on the halter, she is just as showy of an animal as you could get.

Romany is cycling and will be sold as a maiden heifer, but can be put in calf if the buyer wants her to be.

  • Romany's Dam CURRAGHREE BUTTERCUP is a regular breeder, very milky, her 200-day milk is in the top 10 per cent of the breed. She originated from Pat Phelams herd in County Meath which I purchased in its entirety in 2007.

Romany's beef value top 25% with 69% accuracy and 200-day milk top 25%. Romany is bred from a Dam line that consistently shows great longevity, milk and growth rate while also carrying her sire - Nijinskys width and muscle. She is a well-combined heifer and will make a great breeding female.

Rathkeeland Samuel is a growthy, long bull with good depth and muscle. He is good on his legs and feet and has great locomotion. Samuel has a beef value of 41 and is top 10 per cent breed calving ease chart increasing to the right for easy calving sold under NBA warranties.

  • Samuel's dam CULNAGECHAN LIBERTY won the last N.I Randox Limousin National show, where she was Female Champion and Overall Champion 2019 as a first Calver. Her heifer calf Rathkeeland Phoenix was overall calf champion, reserve female champion and reserve overall champion beside her. Phoenix then went across the water to the Stars of the future in Stirling and was placed first in her class and junior female champion. Liberty was also crowned champion at Limavady, Clogher, and Enniskillen shows, finishing her season winning overall interbreed. She was awarded the best Limousin animal winning most championships throughout the show circuit in 2019. The Rathkeeland herd gained the most points throughout the show season and was crowned show team of the year which the herd has won now for 20 years.

Samuel is a young bull who has a great future to go on and produce quality calves in any herd. From a herd of established genetics, established success over 42 years, consistently breeding show, sale, productive & functional quality Limousin bulls and females. Samuel is no exception depth of breeding top and bottom, bid on and bid on for Samuel, high health, help with haulage and a lucky penny to boot.

Rathkeeland Romford is a young bull full of style and muscle. This young bull has great width and plates and is excellent on his feet and legs. We think this bull could really make his mark on any commercial herd to produce those show type calves.
